Dreamweb

Creative Reality's 1994 dark cyberpunk adventure, a grim, adult story played out in a rain-soaked future city.

Ryan, an ordinary barman, starts having vivid dreams. In them, he learns that the Dreamweb, which holds the world together, is under threat from seven people, and that he has been chosen to stop them.

Released as freeware in 2012. Free download from ScummVM. Made for adults: it is violent and has mature scenes.

About the game

You see the world from above through a small window, with a zoomed-in view beside it, which gives it a claustrophobic feel.

It is a short game but a memorable one, with a bleak tone that was unusual for adventures of the time.

History

Developed by Creative Reality, founded by Neil Dodwell and David Dew, and published by Empire Interactive in 1994.

In 2012 Creative Reality and Neil Dodwell allowed ScummVM to offer it as freeware.
