The Witcher

CD Projekt Red's 2007 debut, the first game about Geralt of Rivia, based on Andrzej Sapkowski's books.

Monster hunter Geralt is found near death and without his memory. When a gang called Salamandra raids the witchers' fortress of Kaer Morhen and steals their secrets, Geralt follows the trail into a world with no easy choices.

About the game

Choices often have no clear good or bad answer, and many consequences only show up hours later.

Geralt brews potions and switches between fighting styles for different kinds of enemies.

History

Developed by CD Projekt Red and published by Atari in 2007. The improved Enhanced Edition came in 2008.

It led to The Witcher 2 and the hugely successful The Witcher 3.
