Wing Commander II: Vengeance of the Kilrathi

Origin's 1991 sequel, which made the story as important as the dogfights, with betrayal, romance and a hero cleared of disgrace.

Blamed for the loss of the carrier Tiger's Claw, the hero has spent ten years in disgrace on a remote station. When the Kilrathi strike again, he gets one more chance to fly, and to find the traitor in the ranks.

Sold on GOG together with the first Wing Commander.

About the game

Cut-scenes between missions tell a much bigger story, with characters you come to care about.

It added heavier ships like bombers, and supported sound cards with digitised speech in a speech pack.

History

Developed by Origin Systems and released for DOS in 1991.

Wing Commander III later replaced the cut-scenes with full live-action film.
