RollerCoaster Tycoon

Chris Sawyer's 1999 theme park sim, built almost entirely by one person, in assembly language.

Take over a series of amusement parks, design your own roller coasters track piece by track piece, and keep thousands of guests happy, fed and not too sick.

Sold on GOG as RollerCoaster Tycoon Deluxe, with both expansions.

About the game

Every guest has their own thoughts, money and mood, and you can follow any one of them around the park.

Building a coaster that is thrilling but not too intense is a puzzle players never get tired of.

History

Designed and programmed by Chris Sawyer, the creator of Transport Tycoon, and published by Hasbro Interactive in 1999.

RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 followed in 2002, and fans have rebuilt the engine as OpenRCT2.
