Beyond Good & Evil

Michel Ancel's 2003 action adventure, a cult classic with a photographer heroine, a talking pig uncle and a world worth fighting for.

On the mining planet Hillys, alien DomZ attacks are getting worse, and the military Alpha Sections do nothing to stop them. Photojournalist Jade joins an underground resistance to expose the truth, camera in hand.

Sold on GOG.

About the game

Jade sneaks, fights and takes photos as evidence, and races around Hillys in her hovercraft with her uncle Pey'j.

Photographing the planet's wildlife is a relaxing side activity that pays for upgrades.

History

Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, led by Michel Ancel, the creator of Rayman, and published by Ubisoft in 2003.

It sold poorly at first but became a cult favourite. An HD version came out in 2011, and a 20th Anniversary Edition in 2024.
