Impossible Mission

Dennis Caswell's 1984 Commodore 64 hit, famous for its somersaulting agent and the voice that greets you: "Another visitor! Stay a while… stay forever!"

Evil scientist Elvin Atombender is about to launch a nuclear attack. Search the rooms of his underground stronghold for pieces of a password, dodge his robots, and stop him in time.

This is a remastered version, not the original 1984 release.

About the game

Your agent somersaults over gaps and robots with smooth animation that amazed players in 1984. Searching the furniture can turn up puzzle pieces, or codes that freeze the robots for a moment.

The rooms are shuffled every game and you only have six hours of game time, with each death costing you minutes, so every run plays out differently.

History

Designed and programmed by Dennis Caswell and published by Epyx in 1984 for the Commodore 64. Its digitised speech was a rare treat at the time.

It was ported to many other computers, and a remastered version is sold on Steam today.
