Doom

id Software's 1993 phenomenon: the shooter that changed PC gaming, multiplayer and modding forever.

A space marine stationed on Mars is the last one standing after an experiment opens a gate to Hell. Fight through the moon bases of Phobos and Deimos, and then into Hell itself.

Sold on GOG as DOOM + DOOM II. Made for adults: it is very violent.

About the game

Doom added stairs, lighting, height and a speed nothing else matched, and let four players fight together over a network.

id made it easy to create new levels, and a huge modding community grew around it that is still active today.

History
