Doom II: Hell on Earth

id Software's 1994 sequel, which brought the demons to Earth and added the double-barrelled shotgun.

You escaped Hell, only to find it has invaded Earth. Fight through 32 levels of cities and hellscapes to reach the source of the invasion and shut it down.

Sold on GOG as DOOM + DOOM II. Made for adults: it is very violent.

About the game

It added new monsters like the Arch-Vile and the Revenant, and the super shotgun, still a fan favourite.

One long campaign instead of episodes made it a perfect base for the huge modding scene.

History

Developed by id Software and released in 1994, sold in shops instead of as shareware.

It became one of the best-selling PC games of the decade.
