About the game

Heroes ride across the map collecting resources and treasure, then lead armies into turn-based battles on a separate battlefield.

Each of the four factions has its own castle and creatures, from knights to dragons.

History

Developed by New World Computing, led by Jon Van Caneghem, and published by 3DO in 1995.

It grew out of the earlier King's Bounty, and was followed by Heroes II in 1996 and the classic Heroes III in 1999.
