Blizzard's 1995 real-time strategy classic: bigger armies, ships at sea, dragons in the air, and a lot of 'zug zug'.

The orcish Horde, joined by trolls, ogres and dragons, sails north to conquer Lordaeron. The Alliance of humans, elves and dwarves rises to stop them.

About the game

Oil, shipyards and naval battles were added to gold and lumber, along with flying units and fog of war.

Clicking a unit too many times made it say something funny, a Blizzard tradition that started here.

History

Developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment in 1995. The Beyond the Dark Portal expansion followed in 1996.

A Battle.net Edition with online play came out in 1999.
