Fallout: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game

Interplay's 1997 post-apocalyptic role-playing game. War never changes.

Vault 13's water chip has broken, and without it everyone inside will die. As the Vault Dweller, step out into the wasteland of southern California for the first time to find a replacement, before the water runs out.

Sold on GOG. Made for adults: it is violent and has dark humour.

About the game

Quests can be solved with combat, speech, stealth or science, and the world reacts to your choices and reputation.

Turn-based combat lets you aim at specific body parts, and the SPECIAL system shapes your character from the start.

History

Developed and published by Interplay in 1997, led by Tim Cain. It was planned as a successor to Wasteland.

Fallout 2 followed in 1998, and Bethesda continued the series from Fallout 3.
