Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee

Oddworld Inhabitants' 1997 cinematic platformer, with a gentle hero, a dark sense of humour and a big heart.

Abe, a floor-waxer at the RuptureFarms meat factory, discovers that his bosses plan to turn his own people, the Mudokons, into snacks. He escapes, and sets out to save as many of them as he can.

Sold on GOG.

About the game

Abe can't fight. Instead he sneaks, runs, possesses enemies with chanting and talks to other Mudokons with simple 'GameSpeak' commands to lead them to safety.

How many Mudokons you rescue decides which ending you get.

History

Developed by Oddworld Inhabitants and published by GT Interactive in 1997 for PlayStation and Windows.

It was followed by Abe's Exoddus in 1998, and remade as New 'n' Tasty in 2014.
