Heroes of Might and Magic IV

New World Computing's 2002 Heroes, which shook up the formula by sending heroes into battle themselves.

The world of Erathia has been destroyed. Survivors flee through portals to the new world of Axeoth, where rival leaders fight to build new kingdoms.

Sold on GOG as the Complete edition, with both expansions.

About the game

Heroes now fight on the battlefield and can travel without an army, which opens up new tactics.

Towns force you to choose between creature types, so no two kingdoms play the same.

History

Developed by New World Computing and published by The 3DO Company in 2002. The Gathering Storm and Winds of War expansions followed.

It was the last Heroes game from New World Computing, which closed in 2003.
