The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Bethesda's 2006 open-world fantasy RPG, where the gates of a demon realm open all across the province of Cyrodiil.

The Emperor is murdered, and with no heir on the throne, gates to the hellish plane of Oblivion begin to open. A prisoner set free by fate must find the Emperor's last son and close the gates for good.

The original is sold on GOG. The 2025 remaster is a separate release.

About the game

You can go anywhere and do almost anything: join guilds, explore hundreds of dungeons or ignore the main story entirely.

Skills improve as you use them, so your character grows from the way you play.

History

Developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published in 2006 by Bethesda Softworks and 2K Games.

The GOG Game of the Year Edition Deluxe includes the Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine expansions. A remaster came out in 2025.
