Curse of the Azure Bonds

SSI's 1989 Gold Box sequel to Pool of Radiance, built around one of the best hooks in role-playing games.

Your party wakes up with no memory of the last few days, and five glowing blue symbols burned into their arms. Each one lets an evil power control you. Track down who made them and break them, one by one.

Included in Forgotten Realms: The Archives – Collection Two on GOG.

About the game

Each bond is tied to a different villain, so the adventure takes you across the Forgotten Realms to deal with them in turn.

You can bring over your characters from Pool of Radiance, and the tactical combat is the same as in the first game.

History

Developed by SSI and released in 1989. Its story was written alongside a novel of the same name by Jeff Grubb and Kate Novak.

Secret of the Silver Blades continued the story in 1990.
